Students: Week of Sept. 30, 2024

by Caleb Garnett on September 30, 2024

Sunday + Wednesday
This Sunday we will be continuing through “The Thread” series with a focus on Jesus’ ascension. You can find a parent letter here for more information.

Wednesday Night Community is from 6:30 – 8 p.m. This is a chance for your student to build relationships with peers and leaders, hear a message from God’s Word, and of course have lots of fun!
We will be continuing in our teaching series titled “Who is God?” Each week, we will be exploring different aspects of who God is. This week, we will be talking about how God is our Father. Our main Scripture this week will be Luke 15:11-32. You can find a parent letter attached here about this week's study.

Districts
While January may seem far off, it’s really not! Districts youth conference in Green Bay is quickly approaching, taking place from Jan. 10-12, 2025. This year’s theme is “Come Hear Some Good News.” This event is a fantastic opportunity for our High School students to deepen their faith, worship with their peers, and strengthen their relationships within our community.
The cost is $75 per student and we have all the details listed here. You can also visit the Districts website here. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. We’re looking forward to a transformative experience for all who attend.

Volunteers Needed
Oakwood Student Ministry is currently in need of two more female volunteer leaders for Wednesday night. We have been blessed with a large group of middle school girls, and so we would love to bring two more leaders on board to help lead a middle school girls small group on Wednesday night. If you are interested or know someone who would be, please reach out to pastor Caleb at .
Monthly Middle School Gatherings at the Feder Home!
Pat and Jeanene Feder are excited to welcome middle school students to their home for a monthly evening of pizza, discussions, fellowship, and games!
When: 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. | Oct. 5, and then the first Friday of the month after that
Where: The Feder Home (You can find the address in our app!)
What to Expect: We’re creating a fun, welcoming space for students to bring their friends, share their questions, and enjoy time together. We’ll kick off each gathering with a meal at 6:30 p.m., followed by open discussions where students can explore topics they’re curious about. Afterward, there will be plenty of time for games and more fellowship.
RSVP: Please email Pat to let them know if you plan to attend so we can make sure there’s enough pizza for everyone!
