This Sunday: Achan's Sin
This Sunday, we’re continuing our journey through Scripture in
Joshua 7. After God gave Jericho into Israel’s hands, He commanded them not to take anything from the plunder—it was all to be dedicated to Him. But one man, Achan, disobeyed. He took some of the spoils and hid them under his tent, thinking he could keep his sin secret not only from Joshua and Israel but also from God. His disobedience led to Israel’s defeat at Ai.
This week, our students will be reminded that no sin is truly secret—God knows everything we do. If we’re holding onto hidden sin, we’re invited to bring it before God in confession. He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
As always, the family connection page is
here. I encourage you to share
these devotions with your students and continue the conversation at home.
Wednesday Night Community: Overboard
This Wednesday, we’re continuing our Overboard series—a four-week journey through the Book of Jonah. After starting the year by exploring the gospel and the importance of evangelism, we’re now focusing on someone who did the opposite: Jonah, the prophet who ran from God’s call. Through his story, we’re discovering what we can learn from his mistakes and God’s relentless pursuit.
This week, we’ll dive into
Jonah 2, where Jonah cries out to God from the belly of the fish. This chapter reminds us that no matter how far we’ve strayed, God is always faithful to hear us when we call to Him.
Jonah’s story also beautifully points to Jesus as our ultimate rescuer. Just as Jonah spent three days in the belly of the fish, Jesus was buried for three days before rising again, defeating sin and death forever. Jesus is our deliverer, offering each of us a second chance at new life—just as He did with Jonah.
