Students: Week of Jan. 6, 2025

by Caleb Garnett on January 06, 2025

Sunday Morning Programming | Jan. 12
We will be in Exodus 32 studying the account of the Israelite’s worshipping the golden calf. Our focus will be showing students that only God is worthy of our praise, but unfortunately in our world we still have idols and distractions that take our focus away from God.
The family connection sheet includes discussion points for follow up with your student(s) at home. Along with that, the daily discipleship guide gives your student(s) personal devotions to read throughout the week.
Wednesday Night Community
We are just one week away from the return of WNC on Jan. 15, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. I am so excited to be back with your student(s), playing games, learning from God’s Word, and having great discussion with our small group leaders. Mark your calendars and I can’t wait to see your student(s) there! Please note The Cafe will not be open on Wednesday nights during this session, so plan dinner before attending.
Middle School Gatherings
The next Middle School Gathering at the Feder’s is Friday, Feb. 7, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. This is a great opportunity for our middle school students to build relationships, have fun, and ask great spiritual questions. Food and snacks will be provided. Find their address in the Oakwood app.
Districts
Districts starts Friday! The plan is to leave from Oakwood at 4 p.m. to drive to Green Bay. Students will stop for dinner on the way, so make sure your student has some money not only for that, but for other meals throughout the weekend. Remember that the KI Center is cashless, so students would need a cashless form of payment to get anything from the KI Center (consider Visa gift cards). The Districts merch store will allow cash payments if your student wants to get something (like a t-shirt).
Worship Team Opportunity
This year, we’ve introduced a time of worship into our Sunday morning programming and we’d love to involve your student! Our most pressing need is for singers to help lead worship. If your student has the desire or ability to sing, please reach out to me—we’d love to have him or her on the team!
We also welcome musicians who are passionate about serving through worship arts. If your student plays an instrument and wants to use their talents for God’s glory, we’d be excited to connect with him or her as well.
Thank you for encouraging your student to be part of this meaningful ministry!
