Wednesday Night Community
We are back this Wednesday night, the 15th, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. We are kicking off the new year with a teaching series titled “Life in Six Words.” This series is based on a resource from Dare 2 Share Ministries, who are all about seeing students reach their peers with the gospel of Jesus.
This first week, we will be focused in on the idea that God created us to be with Him. We will take a look at Genesis 1, when God created man to be in perfect relationship with Him, and Genesis 12 and 17, when God called Abraham to be the Father of Israel to put into place His perfect redemptive plan.
I am encouraging students to download the Life in Six Words app and use it as a way to share their faith with their friends and peers. They can join our group on there, which is called "OSM." From there, we can set monthly goals for gospel shares, share prayer requests, and encourage one another to "faith and good deeds." If your student does download the app, our group code is A4G7SM.
Sunday Morning Programming
This Sunday, we will be continuing through the account of Moses’ life. This week we will be studying the account of building the tabernacle in Exodus 40. God made a way for His glory to dwell with His people as they wandered in the desert, but this was not meant to be His permanent home. The temple, which came later, was a more permanent dwelling place for the Lord, but even this home was not meant to be forever.
The beauty of the account of the tabernacle is that it points to Jesus, God Himself who came to earth to literally dwell or “tabernacle” among humanity. Now through the finished work of Jesus on the cross, every one of us as believers is now a dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.
You can find the family connection page here. I would encourage you to have a conversation with your student at home with the included discussion questions!
Middle School Gatherings
The next Middle School Gathering at the Feder’s is happening Friday, Feb. 7, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. This is a great opportunity for our middle school students to build relationships, have fun, and ask great spiritual questions. Food and snacks will be provided. Find more info here.
Super Bowl Party
The playoffs are upon us and the big game is coming fast (sorry about the Packers)! We will be hosting a watch party at the Anderson’s on Feb. 9. The game kicks off at 5:30 p.m., so feel free to show up between 4:45 - 5 p.m. Please bring a side dish to pass such as chips, dips, drinks, etc. RSVP here.
Worship Team Opportunity
This year, we’ve introduced a time of worship into our Sunday morning gatherings and we’d love to involve your students! Our most pressing need is for singers to help lead worship up front. If your student has the desire or ability to sing, please reach out to me—we’d love to have them on the team!
We also welcome musicians who are passionate about serving through worship arts. If your student plays an instrument and wants to use their talents for God’s glory, we’d be excited to connect with them as well.
Thank you for encouraging your student to be part of this meaningful ministry!
