Students: Week of Dec. 30, 2024

Sunday Morning Programming

This Sunday, we embark on an exciting three-year journey through the Bible! We’ll begin by diving into the life of one of the greatest Israelites to ever live: Moses. Our main passage this week is Exodus 20:1-21, where God gives Moses the Ten Commandments.

For some, this may be a familiar passage; for others, it may feel brand new. Regardless of your familiarity, God’s Word always has fresh insights to offer. This week, we’ll focus on an important truth: God didn’t give Israel these commandments to burden them or make their lives more difficult. Instead, He provided these guidelines to teach them how to love Him and how to love others.
What’s even more incredible is how these commandments ultimately point to Jesus, who came to fulfill the law and show us a new and better way to live.

You will find attached here a “Family Connection” page as well as a “Daily Discipleship Guide.” The Family Connection page will give you a summary of what was talked about, along with some questions to spark discussion with your students. The Discipleship Guide gives your student some more discussion questions to think about, as well as a short five day devotional to do throughout their week relating to our lesson. I would encourage you to take advantage of these resources to have some discussion with your child about what they are learning and how it applies to their life as a follower of Jesus.
Wednesday Night Community

We are just two weeks away from the return of Wednesday Night Community! I can’t wait to be back and I hope to see all of your students there! It’s going to be a great year and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do!

Middle School Gatherings

The next middle school gathering at the Feder’s is happening Friday, Jan. 3, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. This is a great opportunity for our middle school students to build relationships, have fun, and ask great spiritual questions. Food and snacks will be provided. RSVP to me, or Pat or Jeanene Feder so we know how much pizza to have.

Districts

If your student is signed up to attend the Districts Youth Conference, it’s now just over a week away! The plan is to leave from Oakwood at 4 p.m. to drive to Green Bay. We will stop for dinner on the way, so make sure that your student has some money not only for that, but for other meals throughout the weekend.
