BONFIRE AND S'MORE FUN THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE!

Wednesday, Oct. 5, the Middle and High School will circle up together around the bonfire at 6:30 p.m. for a fantastic night of fellowship, fun, worship, and time in the Word! We will have s'mores and other goodies as we gather together. Bring a friend!

Tim Whitehead will share our chalk talk from Philippians 2. Here are the small group questions:

Philippians 2:1-11

Theme:  Being A Servant Like Jesus

  1. What would it look like for Christians to be in full agreement, loving each other wholeheartedly, working together with one mind and purpose?
  2. Paul told the Philippians to not be selfish and not to try to impress others. How are you doing with that in your life?
  3. How do we look out for others and not just ourselves?
  4. Why did Jesus give up his glory and power and become a man?
  5. How do we follow Jesus by giving up our glory and power?
  6. Are you humble? How can you serve others?
  7. What is one way this week you can put others ahead of yourself?

Registration is Now Open for the Middle School Retreat!

Not only will we have a ton of fun, enjoy great food, and get very little sleep… we will have amazing times of worship, spend quiet times with God, and be challenged by God’s Word! We'll be at Lake Waubesa Bible Camp Oct. 28-30 and our theme is "Not of this World." Learn more and register.

Here's a note from our Sunday volunteer, Robin Whelan...

Hello! My name is Robin Whelan and I’ll be teaching this week during our Sunday morning student hour while Volunteer Coordinator Chris Schmidt is away. I’ve been at Oakwood for 30 years and I am lucky enough to have 3 of my 4 kiddos in the Middle School/High School group right now. We will be continuing with the 10 commandments this week, taking time to dig into the 6th (you shall not commit murder). Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
