Students: Week of Oct. 10, 2022

Wednesday Night Update

We had a great time around the bonfire last week. This week we will be back in the building ready for a special time of fun, fellowship, worship and digging into God’s Word. It all begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday!

This week we are looking at Philippians 2:12-18.  Our theme is “Dark Clouds or Shining Lights.” Here are the questions for our small group time:

  1. Paul said that God is working in us, producing in us the desire and the ability to do what pleases him. How have you experienced that? What things does God desire?
  2. Do everything without complaining! Are you kidding? Who could do that? What makes doing this such a challenge?
  3. How do we shine like stars among a crooked and perverse generation (world of crooked and evil people)?
  4. Paul talks a lot about joy. He even has joy when things aren't going great. When do you have joy? What makes you experience the most joy?
  5. In what ways is serving others serving God?
  6. This week, what is one way you can serve someone else and show them the love of Jesus?

See you Wednesday night!

RegistER for the Middle School Retreat BY OCT. 23!

Not only will we have a ton of fun, enjoy great food, and get very little sleep… we will have amazing times of worship, spend quiet times with God, and be challenged by God’s Word! We'll be at Lake Waubesa Bible Camp Oct. 28-30 and our theme is "Not of this World." Learn more and register.

Here's a note from our Sunday volunteer coordinator, Chris Schmidt...
Parents, check your inbox for an email from Student Ministry. We will be covering Commandment 7, and I would appreciate it if you could use judgement on previewing adultery to your children and know what we are talking about. The outline for this week is attached here. We will cover adultery with some other topics to fill in. High school topics will not be covered with middle school student, but general middle school topics will be covered with all. The small group leaders will choose if they desire to cover a question or not based on their group. Please let me know if you have questions.
