MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Our Advent adventure continues this week as Todd Jerdon shares a chalk talk from Luke chapter 2. Karina Werner will lead us in carols and we will have a ton of fun.

Here are some discussion questions for our small group time:

Luke 2:1-20

  1. What do you make of the fact that God used wicked Caesar to accomplish His purposes of getting Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus?
  2. Why do you think Luke mentioned Quirinius, the governor of Syria?
  3. Why was Jesus born in Bethlehem? What is the significance of this little village?
  4. Why do you think God told a bunch of Shepherds about the baby?
  5. What would be the sign for the Shepherds that they had found the Messiah?
  6. How did the Shepherds respond to the good news? What did they do after they saw the baby?
  7. What do you think it means that Mary pondered all these things in her heart?
  8. Who have you told about Jesus?
  9. What kinds of things are you pondering in your heart when it comes to the gift of God’s Son?
  10. Who would you like to see come to know Jesus? Talk about ways you might encourage them. Pray for the names of all those that were mentioned.

CHRISTMAS PARTY IS ON! Ho Ho Hope you can make it for a really fun time for Middle and High School Students! Sunday evening, Dec. 18 from 5 - 7 p.m., we will gather at Oakwood! Pizza to be delivered. Please bring a dessert to share and a $5 gift for a fun time of giving. We will be receiving an offering that night for Advent Conspiracy, so be praying about the gift you will bring. And hey, bring a friend!

PLEASE NOTE:   We will not meet December 21, 28 nor January 4 or 11

Here's a note from our Sunday volunteer coordinator, Chris Schmidt..
Hello, Parents,
Today is the last week before we take a break for Christmas. We will be covering Episode 6 in the Alpha Series discussing reading our Bibles. As a note, it was brought to my attention that the link did not match was was shown. They were both Alpha videos, but Alpha looks like they have re-done some videos to update them. I unintentionally grabbed the incorrect version of the same content last week. This version is the one we will use and will vary from the frequent YouTube searches. Refer to these notes for this week.
Thanks,
Chris
