Kids: Week of March 4, 2024

From Mr. Seth

Wednesday, March 6

The "Colors of Easter" series completed its second week last Wednesday with a focus on the color pink. Pink is the color that our faces turn when we are embarrassed, and that emotion was certainly felt by the tax collectors and shopkeepers as Jesus forced them out of the temple. Even with all the shame and embarrassment, we still know Jesus forgives us when we do something wrong. Our gym time last week was a relay race that involved the kids balancing a peep on their foreheads. The pink peep dust turned some of their faces pink.

This week, the series continues to focus on the lesser told parts of the Easter story. Our theme of the week is blue because the disciples felt sad when Jesus was sentenced to die. Specifically, we will focus on the trial in front of Pilate, the governor of the region at the time, and how he gave the Israelites a choice between freeing the criminal Barabbas and freeing Jesus. This story can be found in Matthew 27:11-26. Wear blue this Wednesday!

Sunday, March 10

In Acts 8, Philip follows the Holy Spirit's prompting to spread the Good News. Sometime this week or next, use the activity or discussion questions below together as a family. Have more than one kid in Sunday School? Each age group is learning the same topic in age-appropriate ways, so these activities will work with all your kids 3k-5th grade!

Offering Project

Miss Ashley had the privilege of touring Shepherds College last week with a group of Oakwood staff and got to see how God is truly at work! Check out Facebook to see our picture. Monies collected through March 24 will go towards this offering project.
