Wednesday, Feb. 28

The first week of our "Colors of Easter" series went off without a hitch last week. It was so good to see our kids wearing so much green. Take a look on the Family Life Facebook  page to see some of the activities they did while learning about The Triumphal Entry (AKA Palm Sunday). One of the activities they did involved making palm branches out of paper and taping them to the bottom of the wall out in the hallway. Try asking your kids why they put the branches so low (It's because we wanted to mimic the people who laid down branches and coats in front of Jesus as He rode into Jerusalem).

For this Wednesday, we are focusing on the color pink. Our story comes from Matthew 21:12-17, right after The Triumphal Entry. This week focuses on when Jesus clears out the temple of all of the moneychangers and shops that set up where they shouldn't. This relates to the color pink because when we get angry or embarrassed, our face turns pink. Try to send your kids wearing pink if you can this week! (I know it might be a struggle for the boys, Mr. Seth included).

Sunday, March 3

Jesus told His followers that they would be persecuted and, in turn, those who suffer for Him would be blessed. This week kids will hear about Stephen and his arrest in Act 6 – 7. Stephen was known as a martyr which would be a key word for kids to know. Martyr means someone who dies because of their faith in Christ rather than deny Him. This month’s Bible verse reflects this very well. As your child reads and learns this verse, walk it through word by word to help them understand it.

Offering Project

We will continue to collect offering for Shepherd’s College through March. Check out some pictures on Facebook of us celebrating reaching our $200!
