Kids: Week of Feb. 19, 2024

Wednesday, Feb. 21

The Valentine's Day Party last week was a blast! Despite my ongoing feud with the Kid's Zone projector, we were still able to have a lot of fun and learn. We learned about how much God loves us, and because He loved us first, we should love other people. Once we split into our stations, one group went in the gym, and the other group got busy with the craft. The kids made heart-shaped suncatchers to try to appreciate what little sunlight we get in the winter. After that, they got heart-shaped cookies they could decorate themselves (courtesy of The Cafe).

Looking ahead to this week, it's hard to believe, but Easter is just around the corner. We will begin our "Colors of Easter" series this week. The series will take us through Jesus' journey from Palm Sunday to the Resurrection. Each week focuses on a different color, and this week is green. Green reminds us of the welcoming parade that the people gave to Jesus. At this welcome, the people were waving palm branches and crying out "Hosannah!" If you want to read ahead for the week, the passage we will be using comes out of Matthew 21:1-11. Try to send your kids wearing green if you can!

Sunday, Feb. 25

Everyone has jobs to do, even the youngest of kids can have some responsibility. Sometimes those responsibilities can be hard or confusing. Sunday classes will be in Acts 6 learning about when and how churches handled a problem. Read Act 6 and talk through the questions sometime this week and talk through how might your family handle a problem in a Godly way.

Offering Project

Wooohooo, kids did it again! Get ready to enjoy some chocolate chips on Sunday! Kids reached the offering goal of $200! We will continue to collect offering through March for Shepherds College and all funds will be used to purchase kitchen items to boost the Culinary Arts Program there.

Volunteers will be using Shepherds College chocolate chip cookie recipe to make cookies. These are peanut and tree nut free, but if you have specific allergy questions email me at .

Total = $210.88

Station Leaders will be given a brief script/guide including scriptures to read, a small game or activity, and directions. Families will be at stations for about 5 minutes.
  • The Wednesday Night team could use a few volunteers to help in the gym and with small group time. This is a weekly commitment, 6:20 - 8:10 p.m. through April and the only prep is reading an email so you are prepared. Let   know if you are interested.

Blessings!
