Kids: Week of April 29, 2024

From Mr. Seth

Wednesday, May 1
WNC concluded last week and will return in the fall.

Everyone is invited to listen to special guest, Jay Seegert, this week Wednesday, May 1, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the Worship Center. Childcare and Café will not be available.

This past week was our last week of Wednesday Night Community for Kids Ministry. A sad day for us, but also an exciting one because that means summer is just around the corner! Our last week had a similar theme as we finished the story of Joseph. It came directly from Joseph at the end of the Book of Genesis: "You planned to harm me. But God planned it for good. He planned to do what is now being done. He wanted to save many lives" (Genesis 50:20). God is able to turn evil or bad things into good things. Joseph's brothers intended to sell him into slavery so he had a bad life, but that led to him saving his whole family from the famine and all of Egypt too!

This is where I would say what we are doing this week, but unfortunately, I have nothing to say in that regard. Have a wonderful summer! And seeing as I am currently a teacher, have a great end to the school year as well!

From Miss Ashley

Sunday, May 5

This week’s lesson teaches about when church leaders met in Jerusalem to answer a tough question: Can a person be saved by faith alone or is something more needed? The early church agreed that because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, He alone is all we need to be saved. Kids will be learning from Acts 15; take some time to read ahead or review then use some of the discussion questions or the activity to take it one step further.

Opportunities to Serve

July 31 is Kids Camp! Volunteers are needed!

  • Small Group Leaders: Be “homebase” for a specific group of girls or boys and get to connect and guide kids through discussions throughout the day.

  • Specials Leaders: Do you have a special hobby or gift you would like to share? Specials are similar to “breakout sessions” or “workshops” where leaders walk kids through an activity (baking, crafting, sports, experiments, etc) that you plan to tie into camp's theme: Scuba – diving into friendship with God.

  • Small group assistants, specials assistants, and floaters are also needed!

I’d love to get together over a cup of coffee and chat about how you could help or email me for more details.

Blessings!
