From Mr. Seth

Wednesday, April 3

The Easter Party from a couple weeks ago was so much fun! We spent some time reviewing the Easter story from start (Palm Sunday) to finish (The Resurrection). After that, the kids had to answer trivia questions to get the chance to go through a streamer maze and play a game that one of the kids named "The Easter Rel-egg Race." For pictures, and some clarity on what a "rel-egg race" is, please check out the Family Life Facebook page.

This week, we will be starting a brand new 4-week series called "Upward." This series will take us through the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis. The story starts with Joseph being the favorite son and then his brothers selling him off to become a slave. Our lesson focuses on the fact that God is always good, even when it seems like things are bad right now. The passage for this story is Genesis 37:3-4, 12-35, so you can read the story with your kids ahead of time if you want!

From Miss Ashley

Sunday, April 7

For the next few weeks, kids will dig deeper into the growth of The Church and better understand “what is the church.” Kids will learn that the church in not a building or specific place, but rather a group of Christians who gather to worship and serve God. This Sunday volunteers will teach from Acts 9 when Peter performs miracles and grows the church. Keep an eye out for the new Bible verse card and challenge your kids to read it, memorize it, and learn it.

*NEW* Offering Project | April 7 – May 19 | Esperanza Viva

Esperanza Viva is an orphanage in Puebla, Mexico. A team of teens and adults from Oakwood will be serving there for a week this summer and we have the opportunity to offer them an experience to share with the kids living there. All Kids Ministry offering monies collected April 7 – May 19 will go towards an experience to share together, such as an ice cream or pizza party, or taking the kids living at Esperanza Viva on a local field trip. Our goal is to offer $200 towards this experience. Think we can do it?!?

Kids will be getting a new purple offering tag. If your child needs a new offering bag, ask Miss Ashley or a volunteer.
