6th - 8th grade: Week of Jan 3, 2022

by Myles Hanson on January 04, 2022

Happy 2022, families! It's a brand new year and the opportunities are endless for how we're going to spend this year. Has your family set a plan in place for growing in your faith in 2022?
JAN 9 | 9 AM
The Middle School group is starting this weekend! We will be off this Wednesday night as the small group leaders get some training, but Sunday morning we get started for our first meeting of the year! We'll be in the High School room from 9:00 - 10:00am to get our goals realigned now that we're in 2022. We talked about goals this past summer and I told the group that we'd relook at our goals later in the year as a reminder for those who forgot about their goals as well as hear the stories of those who have been working hard on their goals over the fall.
Sunday morning gatherings are for both middle and high school students. We meet in the same room at the same time, but split by age group for our discussions with group leaders recruited for that age group. We'd love to have your students join us and hop into the conversation!
JAN 12 | 6:30 - 8 PM
Wednesday nights will start up on January 12th from 6:30 - 8:00pm here at Oakwood for Family Night! You're invited, along with your student, to see what our middle school students do each week. We'll be looking at the role of a teenager in the family from a Biblical perspective. I think the discussion will be a lot of fun to have with parents and teens in the same chat! Please join us, especially if you want get your student out in a game of dodgeball!
JAN 21 | 6-8 PM
And on January 21st we're going to do the greatest game night in the gym at Oakwood. Scatterball is maybe the greatest dodgeball game ever invented and is dearly loved by our middle schoolers, so we're going to do a whole night of it! We'll be running and sweating in the gym from 6:00 - 8:00pm.

I'm looking forward to kicking off this new year with you and your family. See you this week!
