Mexico Mission Trip Donation Drive

Several friends from Oakwood are heading to Mexico at the end of June to serve at the Christian orphanage Esperanza Viva Youth Home (Living Hope International) in Puebla, Mexico. Our team will organize and run the School Fair for 200+ children, lead activities with the kids, teens, and supervisors, complete a work project remodeling a dorm, serve the community, and experience the culture. The team needs our support to make it all happen!

What: Donation Drive for the Mexico Mission Trip

When: Now - June 8

How: Support the team by making financial donations to purchase materials for a dorm makeover, which will turn their dorm into "home" with fresh paint, updated mattresses, a couch and rug to read and play games on, new storage cubbies, and more.

Give here and select "Dorm Makeover - Mexico" as the Fund. You can also drop off cash and check donations at Oakwood.

Praise Jesus! All of the supplies on the Amazon wish list have been purchase.

About the Dorm Makeover
The Oakwood team will paint the room, fix closets, and give them more storage. They'll also be updating the space with donated items.
- The main room is meant to feel like a little living room for the dorm where they can read, relax, and play games. It includes: 
  • a couch
  • an area rug
  • a cube dresser to store games, books, etc. 
  • some frames for over the cube dresser 
  • a standing lamp 
- One alcove will be a "supervisor only area." This is meant for the supervisors to be able to sit and have their devotions, or simply relax. This includes: 
  • a little circle rug 
  • night stand 
  • plant 
  • chair 
  • lamp 
- The other alcove will be the study area where the kids have a specific area to work and study. This will include: 
  • 3 desks 
  • 3 chairs 
  • bulletin boards
