Give the gift of time this Christmas! We're asking all of Oakwood for donations for a special silent auction at the Women's Christmas event on Dec. 1, 2023.

What: The silent auction at this year’s Women’s Christmas Event will be comprised of experiences that are offered by Oakwood people. These “gifts” will be shared from our resources or expertise and are intended as an offer of time and personal connections. What are ways God has gifted you that you can share with others? We’d love you to get creative! To prompt your creativity, here are a couple of ideas:
- Workout session
- Knitting or sewing tutorial
- An afternoon for 6 on your pontoon boat

Who: Anyone! We’re looking for people in the Oakwood family to donate the gift of time or experience. Attenders at the Women’s Christmas Event will purchase these gifts.
Why: Money raised from this silent auction will go to support the outreach of Esperanza Viva (EV) to the mountain regions of northern Puebla, Mexico at San Martin Esperilla. Without job options, most men leave this community to find work, abandoning young moms and children to live in poverty. Access to medical care as well as food and clothing is needed desperately. Currently, groups of staff and students from EV travel weekly to share the love of Jesus with the women and children, bringing donations and spending time getting to know the residents. Specifically, the proceeds of the auction will go toward EV’s goal to build a permanent base in San Martin to provide for the physical needs and to share the gospel to this unreached people group.
When: The Women’s Christmas Event is Friday, Dec. 1. Please submit donations by Sunday, Nov. 19.
