More About Matthew
Equipped with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, minors in mass communications and leadership, and an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Matthew has held various church leadership roles. He began as an Associate Pastor in northern Wisconsin before God called him and his wife, Kate, to plant an EFCA church in his home state of Colorado. Once that church was established, the Haslars headed to Bethel Church in Washington where Matthew was most recently the Adult Discipleship Director.
Matthew is an outdoor guy – hiking, camping, you name it. He especially enjoys adventures on the water in his great-grandfather’s canoe. Matthew and Kate have two kids, Philip and Abigail. The Haslar family enjoys adventurous outings together and competitive game nights. Matthew’s quick-witted humor will keep you on your toes, but he’s also deeply relational and passionate about pointing people to Jesus.
