What does the Great Commission mean for your life? Additionally, several of Oakwood’s global and local partners will share about their ministry and how you can be involved.
The Most Important Week
Audience: Women
Leader: Jen Wollner + Amanda Penebaker
Location: Northwoods
Description: Together, we will study the week leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection in the Gospel of Mark (chapters 11-16), also known as Holy Week. Using the inductive Bible study method, we’ll closely examine the Scriptures, discern their meaning, and apply them to our lives. This will be a great study as we enter the season of Lent to understand the riches of Christ’s love for us because of what He did for us!
2 Timothy
Audience: Men
Leaders: Todd Jerdon + Lucas Jensen
Location: Library
Description: We will study the Apostle Paul’s heartfelt letter to a younger leader, with encouragement and instruction in his last days on earth, as he looks to pass on the importance of faith to Timothy. These same words will “fan the flame” of our faith as we too are entrusted to pass on the gospel to the next generation of passionate disciples.
Bread of Life
Audience: Co-ed adults
Leader: Denny VanCleve
Location: Gathering
Description: The Bible uses the image of bread over and over again to show how God is the true giver and sustainer of life. In fact, Jesus even called himself the “Bread of Life” in John 6:35. Even though we humans tend to depend upon all the wrong things (money, power, the approval of others), none of these can truly sustain us. In this video series, we’ll examine the unexpected and life-giving imagery of bread in connection to Jesus’s ministry and learn how to live more dependent lives on the One who truly satisfies.
