In Oakwood Connect Groups, you will make new friends and grow in your walk with Jesus.

YOUNG ADULTS

Schedule: Sundays | 6 - 8:30 p.m.

Audience: 18 - 28 year old co-ed adults

Leader(s): Chris + Aubrey Adams

Description: The Young Adult Ministry exists to connect young adults to Christ, one another, and the mission of His church. Its goal is to foster spiritual growth, authentic relationships, and active service in the body of Christ.

SENIOR FELLOWSHIP

Schedule: Wednesdays | 10:30 a.m.

Audience: Retirement age, co-ed adults

Leader(s): Judy + Ted Witas

Description: The challenge in every season of life is to realize God’s divine purpose and to be an active participant in His plan. Senior Fellowship at Oakwood embraces the years our holy and gracious God has given us.

Location: Oakwood

WEDNESDAY NIGHT COMMUNITY

Schedule: Wednesdays | 6:30-8 p.m. (March 11 - April 22, off April 1)

Material needed: Bible and notebook (optional)

On Wednesday nights at Oakwood, families can grow their faith with their peers all at the same time. Student and Kids Ministry are active during Wednesday Night Community with programming for kids Pre-K through senior year of High School.

Connect with God

Audience: Co-ed adults

Location: Gathering

Description: Ever wonder if you're praying the right way? Do you feel stuck in a prayer rut? Or do you wish to gain a deeper experience of prayer? Gain insights and practical tools to connect with God through prayer and worship. We will use Scripture as we learn to develop a deeper, more intentional relationship with the Lord, knowing, experiencing, loving, and obeying Him. In this 6-week class, we will discuss biblical models of prayer and worship, gain comfort in praying with others, and practice different types of prayer that reflect a deep dependence on God.

Just Among Moms

Audience: Moms of children 0-18 years old

Leaders: Lexi Ellis and Carolyn Hulliberger

WOMEN'S GROUPS

James: What You Do Matters

Schedule: Tuesdays 9 - 11 a.m. from March 31 - April 28

Audience: Women

Leader(s): Connie Haynes and Betty Nakielski

Description: Penned by the half-brother of Jesus, the book of James is packed with doable and down-to-earth teaching, golden treasures of wisdom, and a timely call for believers everywhere to grow into maturity. Through this video series, we’ll study how Jesus leads us to real faith through developing new habits and discovering the deep love of the Father for each of us.

Location: Oakwood

Materials needed: Study Bible, journal, "James: What You Do Matters" book ($15 suggested donation)

Women of the Word

Schedule: 2nd + 4th Wednesdays | 9 - 10:15 a.m.

Audience: Women

Leader(s): Sarah Duwe + Dionne Wilhelm

Description: Build Bible study confidence with practical methods. In the New Year, Women of the Word will be studying the Sermon on the Mount in the Book of Matthew. 

Location: Mama D's in Wales

Materials needed: Study Bible, journal, optional "Women of the Word" book ($10 suggested donation or purchase here)

Women’s Praise, Prayer and Paint

Schedule: 1st Thursday of the month 1- 3 p.m., February – May

Audience: Women

Leader: Barb Hayden, fine artist

Description: Connect with faith and creativity! Each monthly gathering will open with a time of Scripture, praise, and remembering God’s faithfulness in our lives before we transition into the mindful practice of watercolor painting.  Together, we will learn techniques and skills in painting and close by sharing both our efforts (artwork) and prayer requests. 

Ideal for all levels. Our focus isn’t on outcomes, but rather to be creative and enjoy the journey of painting as we foster community and spiritual growth!

For we are his workmanship created in Christ for good works. (Eph. 2:10)

Materials needed: Bibles, bring own watercolor supplies or use provided supplies for $5 suggested donation

MEN'S GROUPS
Books of the Bible

Schedule: Wednesdays | 7 - 8:30 a.m.

Audience: Men

Description: Drop-in Bible study, currently working through Genesis.

Location: Mama D's in Wales

MIGHTY MEN OF GOD

Schedule: Weekdays 5:30 + 6:30 a.m., Saturdays 7 a.m.

Audience: Men

Leader(s): Don Douglas

Description: These groups of men meet regularly to "armor up" with God's Word and prayer. Come when you can!

JUST AMONG MOMS

Schedule: Wednesdays | 6:30 - 8 p.m. OR Thursdays | 9 - 10:45 a.m.

Audience: Moms of all stages

Leader(s): Lexi Ellis + Robin Whelan

Description: Encouragement for moms through studies like No More Perfect Moms, Sticky Faith, and Confident Digital Parenting.
