Students: Week of Sept. 29, 2025

by Caleb Garnett on September 29, 2025

This Sunday – Guest Speaker
This Sunday, Oct. 5, we'll have a guest speaker while some of our students are at retreat. Our regular curriculum will resume on Oct. 12.
This week we're excited to welcome Todd Jerdon, a parent of two of our students, to share with us. Todd holds a Master's in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and leads his own spiritual formation ministry. Our students will be blessed by what he has to share!
Wednesday Night
6:30 - 8 p.m.
We are in the final week of our series, "Who We Are," in which we'll explore what it means to say we are part of the Church. This series will help students understand what it means to be part of the local church and why being part of a local church is such an important part of their identity as Christ-followers.

Session 4: Set Apart
Big Idea: Not everyone is going to get it, and that's OK.
This week we'll be looking at John 15, where Jesus tells His disciples that they have been called out of the world. When we're called out of the world and into Christ's church, not everyone will understand. In Greek, the word "church" means "a called-out assembly." That's what we want students to grasp this week. Even though the world may not understand - and may even hate us at times - we're not called to stay in a "holy huddle." We are called to go and bring the good news of Jesus to the world.
Fall Retreats
High School – THIS WEEKEND!
We're looking forward to taking high school students to Wood Camp in Fredonia. We will meet at Oakwood between 3:45 - 4 p.m. on Friday and leave shortly after. We'll return to Oakwood on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. An email will be sent out with more details as well. Please join us in praying for a safe trip full of spiritual growth for our students.
