This Sunday – Micah Prophesies in Judah
This Sunday, we are diving into the words of another minor prophet, Micah. Even in the midst of the unfaithfulness of God’s people, Micah’s words gave them hope for a future, and the messiah who would come to save his people.
As always, here are the family connect page and daily discipleship guide.
Wednesday Night
6:30 - 8 p.m.
To wrap up this calendar year with THRIVE, we're embarking on an exciting and thought-provoking journey with our group titled "3 Tough Questions." This series is designed to address common, challenging questions about faith head-on, helping our students build a solid foundation for their beliefs and equipping them to confidently share their faith with others.
I'm super excited to have my sister, Zoe, come and share some of her story with the students this week. She has been through some rough things in her life, but God has brought her through the other side and empowered her with an amazing testimony that the students will be blessed to hear. She will be tying her story into these themes this week:
Session 1: What Do I Do When Bad Things Happen?
Big Idea: Even when it may feel like it, your story isn’t over.
Question for Discussion: How can we find hope and strength in our faith during difficult times?
Middle School Gatherings
Middle school gatherings are back! The next hangout will be next Friday, Nov. 7 at Pat and Jeanene Feder's home from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. All students in grades 6-8 are invited. There will be food, games, and lots of fun! We hope to see you there!
Friendsgiving
On Sunday, Nov. 16 from 6 - 8 p.m., we will be gathering at the Penebaker’s home for our annual Friendsgiving event. Turkey will be provided, but we are asking students to bring a side to pass (stuffing, potatoes, rolls, dessert etc.). We hope to see all of your students there!
Snack Station Open!
Beginning this week, we will have snacks available for purchase for students. Snacks will cost $1 per item. Students can bring cash and we will have a cash box for payment. This is going to be an honor system for payment, and we will track the money and items coming in and out. If snacks and money end up not matching up at some point, we may have to close it down. I trust our students, so I'm not thinking that it will come to that!
Student Leadership Team
Our next meeting for our Student Leadership Team will be on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m., during second service. As a reminder, please have your student bring back their completed homework, and some ideas for a name for our new team.
Districts
If your high school student is still interested in attending Districts Youth Conference, registration is still open until Nov. 10. Register here. The conference is Jan. 9 - 11, 2026, and the cost is $75.
