Students: Week of Dec. 15, 2025

by Caleb Garnett on December 15, 2025

This Sunday – Illuminate
We are in the final week of our teaching series called “Illuminate. Throughout this series, we’ll look at the special role that “light” plays in the Christmas story throughout history, including what it looks like for us to carry the Light of Jesus in our world today. On Sunday, we will be talking about how we are able to be the light of the world since Jesus came as the True Light on that very first Christmas.

Wednesday Night Community

Wednesday Night Community resumes Jan. 14.

Worship Night

Jan. 16 | 6:30 - 8 p.m.

On Friday, Jan. 16, right here at Oakwood, our worship team is going to be hosting a worship night. This will be a time of refreshment for our souls as we spend time worshipping Jesus together.
I would highly encourage our students to attend this event, as the team pushed it back a week from it’s original date to accommodate our high school students that are attending Districts.
Districts
We are less than one month away from Districts! If you have a student attending, keep an eye out for more details as we get closer to Jan. 9.
Christmas Eve

On Dec. 24, Oakwood is having two identical, candle-lit services at 3 and 5 p.m. We would love to see all of our students with their families!
Summer Camp Interest Meeting
On Jan. 18 after the first service, I am going to hold a brief meeting to gauge interest about summer camp in 2026. I would love to take some students as I believe camp is a hugely influential event in the life of a student. If you are interested in that, I would love to see you in the student room after first service.
Save the Date
