Kids: Week of Oct. 12, 2026

by Ashley Schmidt on October 12, 2026

Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day is Sunday, Oct. 18. We have more than 30 volunteers each week serving in Kids Ministry on Sundays or Wednesdays, and we are grateful for them all. Some teach, some greet you and check-in your family, some lead worship, some rock babies -- all are important and appreciated. Consider taking a minute to say thank you in person, with a card, or even this printable.

We are halfway through October and it is flying by quickly! We finished up with Dottie the Ocelot last week. The kids talked about places of refuge and where they feel safe. I loved how so many of them wrote down church as their safe place.

This week we will introduce Tia the Anteater. She is going to teach us about Psalm 136:1 and what it means to say, "God is love!"

Sunday, Oct. 18

Matthew 14, John 6, and Mark 6 share the account of Jesus walking on water. Kids will learn that this incredible act shows that Jesus is in fact God. He has power over all - even water and waves! The memory verse this month is John 11:25. Can your family learn it?

Kids Offering Project | Operation Christmas Child

The Kids Ministry offering project is halfway through and we're a little behind. Help us reach out $400 goal to ship 40 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes filled with gifts and the good news of Jesus around the world. All money collected through Nov. 15 will go toward this goal.

Each Sunday, our preschool and elementary kids learn about the project, pray for it, and watch the offering grow. It's a simple, tangible way for kids to learn generousity, practice, giving, and help share Jesus with children around the world!

Many kids are earning money through extra chores, talking with family about the project, or even giving some of their birthday money.

Need a new offering bag? Ask your child's teacher!
