Kids: Week of May 4, 2026

by Ashley Schmidt on May 04, 2026

Wednesday, May 6

With great power comes great responsibility. Peter Parker is just a man, but for him to be Spiderman he needs to practice self-control and hard training to have the reward of saving people. Just as Paul urges us in 1 Corinthians, as believers we need to train hard and focus on the reward at the end of the race. See you Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.!

Sunday, May 10

Jesus went to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover, and when He got to the temple He was MAD. This has always stuck with me; Jesus was mad! Jesus showed His desire to honor God by cleaning the temple of sinful practices. All sin offends God's glory and will be punished. Jesus took the punishment our sin deserves so that anyone who trusts in Him will be cleansed of sin.

If your child has more questions about Passover and Communion and would like a deeper parent/child class, let me know. If there's interest, we'll offer a class this summer instead of waiting until fall.

Kids Zone Closing

Effective this Sunday, May 10, Kids Zone will be closed after first service programming. This decision comes after many thoughtful discussions about the safest use of our facility and the best care we can provide to those attending Oakwood. We invite families to enjoy community with each other in the upper or lower lobbies - or even outside when the weather is nice! Thank you for understanding.
