Who Is, Was and Is to Come

“Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come…” Revelation 1:4

Consider the changes you've recently experienced in your life. Some of us fear change and try feverishly to keep life regular and in control. Others of us thrive on change and look for a new adventure each day.

Change and transitions come on a regular basis. Some changes are expected as the calendar moves forward. Other changes come unexpectedly and can take our feet out from under us and our breath out from our lungs. Change will come for better or worse. So, what shall we do?

Where do we go when things don’t go as planned?

When we lose that job, or struggle in that relationship, or receive bad news about ours or a loved one’s health ... to whom shall we go? Should we just deal with it, man-up and take the bull by the horns? Changes will come, but there is hope.

There is One who is unchanging. It is the Lord Almighty who is, who was and who is to come!

Ken Chandler was a faithful member at Oakwood. I never was able to meet him before he was born to eternal life. But he started a blog that has inspired me to continue to write. He was vulnerable, full of faith and desired to encourage the brothers at Oakwood in the faith of our Lord Jesus. God was with Ken in the past, He is with us now and He will be with the next generation of young men as well.

God is ever present – but changes in this world and in our lives will also come.

As men and brothers, we’ll seek the Lord, and walk through life’s changes together.

How do you navigate change? Do you welcome it or loathe it? Comment below with tips for others to follow or laments that we can walk through together.
