Week of April 19, 2021 for 9th-12th Grade

by Myles Hanson on April 20, 2021

Happy midweek, everyone! The midwest has gotten us again, snow is on the way.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21 | 8-9PM
Wednesday night we're going to be talking through four disciplines disciplemakers practice in their day to day lives. We're a group on a mission to "Love God, Love Others, and Make Disciples", we're going to be opening up Scripture to the importance of prayer, study of Scripture, loving extravagantly, and living a life of worship. I'm looking forward to the conversations about these four important topics and I'm praying God moves in a big way into our routines because of this time together.
SUNDAY, APRIL 25 | 9-10AM
Sunday morning we're finishing up the book of Ephesians in our weekly Bible study together with the middle schoolers! We've had a great time talking through the book in small groups asking what we read about loving God and loving others through each of these chapters. We're going to look at the armor of God and what Paul was talking about when he refers to slaves in this chapter, be sure to ask your student about it!
SUNDAY, APRIL 25 | 6-7:30PM
Sunday night is our next discussion on messy families. Last week we looked at the family of Joseph and his hateful brothers and the favoritism shown by his parents and all the problems that came out of that crazy family and yet God moved in a huge way through Joseph and his family. This week we're looking at King David and the large mistakes he made that affected his family in great way. This is such a fun study to have together with your student, we all know students can get dramatic about their families sometimes. Let me help curb some of the drama over the next couple weeks!
SATURDAY, MAY 1 | 9-11AM

I would love to have you and your student join us for Phase Day on May 1st, we've got some breakfast foods waiting for you! The high school group will be looking at the Waypoint "Lead" which talks about how we all are leaders in our own unique ways with a unique group of people God has put in our paths. This is a great time together with your student to set aside time to have a faith conversation with me and an important topic. Sign up here and we'll see you from 9:00 - 11:00am on the 1st!
SUNDAY, MAY 9 | 6-7:30PM

And lastly, we have "Seconds" coming up on May 9th from 6:00 - 7:30pm and this time we're going to do "Stump Myles". This is a time we'll have together for some food and discussion about any topic your student wants to talk about! They can bring any topic they'd like, I'll share my opinions and truth where I can, and we'll have an open discussion about it!
Thank you for having your family plug in with Oakwood Student Ministries, I'm so glad we get to work together for the advancement of the Gospel!
