Week of April 19, 2021 for 6th-8th Grade

by Myles Hanson on April 20, 2021

Happy midweek, everyone! The midwest has gotten us again, snow is on the way.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21 | 6:30-8PM
Wednesday night we're on our new discussion topic. We're going to look at stories of messy families in Scripture, which is such a great topic for our students to talk through when they feel like they are being "picked on" or "unloved" by their family. There are some great stories of crazy families that God used for huge things in His kingdom despite the messiness of their family. This week we're looking at the story of Joseph and his brothers who hated him and his parents who favored him and all the craziness that came out of that. Looking forward to this conversation with your student!
SUNDAY, APRIL 25 | 9-10AM
Sunday morning we're finishing up the book of Ephesians in our weekly Bible study together with the high schoolers! We've had a great time talking through the book in small groups asking what we read about loving God and loving others through each of these chapters. We're going to look at the armor of God and what Paul was talking about when he refers to slaves in this chapter, be sure to ask your student about it!
SATURDAY, MAY 1 | 9-11AM
I would love to have you and your student join us for Phase Day on May 1st, we've got some breakfast foods waiting for you! The middle school group will be looking at the Waypoint "Image" which talks about how God views us and what we do with that understanding. This is a great time together with your student to set aside time to have a faith conversation with a great leader and an important topic. Sign up here and we'll see you from 9:00 - 11:00am on the 1st!
Thank you for having your family plug in with Oakwood Student Ministries, I'm so glad we get to work together for the advancement of the Gospel!
