Kids: Week of Jan. 30, 2023

by Ashley Schmidt on January 30, 2023

Hello Fellow Oakwood Families,

Your kid’s generosity toward our current offering project continues to amaze us! We have set a few goals and they continue to surpass them before we can even share what the new goal is. I heard a few kids offered their hard-earned shoveling money and others shared about the project with family. If we surpass $300, kids will get the chance to Pie Face some of the leaders on Feb. 26.

Here is what is happing this week:

Wednesday, Feb. 1
So far kids have learned that God is Eternal and God is Sovereign. Kids used pictures to help them better understand what “sovereign” means – ask them about them. They might say something like He “rains” (reigns), rules, or is THE King!

This week they get a 2-for1: God is omniscient and omnipresent. Mark will lead them through those big words in large group and we will all dig into them more in our three small group rotations.

Sunday, Feb. 5
In 9 a.m. programming, we begin a new unit this week. Kids will dig into the Book of Nehemiah, specifically when Nehemiah builds a wall around Jerusalem for protection. Can your child see how this is similar to Jesus coming to earth to protect us?

Opportunities to Serve

Kids Ministry is blessed with an amazing team of Jesus-loving leaders, but sometimes they need a substitute, and we would like to build up our sub pool. If you are interested in stepping in on occasion as a leader, co-leader or nursery volunteer email Ashley for details.

Blessings!
