Infant - 5th grade: Week of May 30, 2022

May 31, 2022

THIS WEEK IN KIDS

This week we are going to learn more about how the book of Judges uncovers what our God is like and how he responds to us in our sin. The book of Judges confirms over and over what it says in Psalm 145:8-9, “The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.  The lord is good to all and his mercy is over all that he has made”. Every time the people of Israel repented and turned from their sins our God sent deliverance no matter how difficult or deep the situation.  As we mentioned last week, as believers we need to recognize our sin and we need to be in a pattern of quick repentance. Too many times we (including our kids) allow the shame from our sin to keep us from experiencing the abundant mercy our God gives.

MY PRAYER FOR YOU

My prayer for you this week is that you would remind yourself and your child that although God is saddened by sin, He LOVES when you come to him in repentance of the sin. His mercy will overflow toward you! When we have a right perception of our God, it allows us to feel God's mercy instead of shame!!
