Infant-5th grade: Week of June 13, 2022

June 16, 2022

THIS WEEK IN KIDS

This week we are going to dive into the story of Ruth. Normally when we discuss Ruth's story we focus mostly on her obedience and faith. But this week we are going to take a good look at another key person in the story, Boaz.  As we do this, we are going to help point our kids back to Jesus!  See we know Boaz as a farmer, the man who supervised the field to ensure a plentiful harvest, but Boaz was also a family-redeemer - helping his family in a bad situation.  In the same way Jesus is a family-redeemer - redeeming us into HIS family. We have a bad situation too, its sin and Jesus is the solution!!

MY PRAYER FOR YOU

My prayer for you this week is that you would focus on the redemptive love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  He so willingly opens His arms to everyone!  Spend time together praising Him for being our great redeemer!!!

MY JOURNEY

God is so good amen!!  There is a song that came out in, I believe 2010 and some words to that song are “God is God and I am not, I can only see a part of the picture He’s painting.God is God and I am man, so I’ll never understand it all for only God is God". What truth there is in that!  Unfortunately too often we spend much time trying to understand things, when really we just need to TRUST GOD! God has changed up His plan for my life, and though I don’t understand, I’m going to choose to trust and obey. What a wonderful time I’ve had here at Oakwood with the kids! I pray they will continue to be a POWERFUL generation for the Lord!!  I have seen God do so much through the kids here, and that has been such a joy to my heart to be a part of!!!  My favorite verse and a verse I have fully committed to is Luke 1:38 ESV:

And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.“

So even though I don’t always understand God’s plan, I know who I am…a servant of the Lord and I’m going to follow His lead!  To the families and children - you will continue to be prayed for and I know whatever it is the Lord has next for Oakwood it is going to be great!  To God be the glory for the great things he has done and will do!!
