UNINVITED | Susan Klein
Has rejection found its way into your heart, or the heart of someone you love? Over the course of six weeks, this group will read Lysa TerKeurst's book, Uninvited, and dialogue together about the concrete truths we can use to turn the Enemy’s lies upside-down. Most importantly: Even when you are overlooked by others, you are handpicked by God. Meets Wednesday mornings at 9:30 at Susan Klein's home, starting June 13. Books are $12 each. (please bring payment to study)
TRUE SPIRITUALITY | Sarah Hayden & Melissa Whitehead
God's idea of faith is not about rules or religion— it’s about relationship. In this group, we will read through Romans 12 using Chip Ingram's book True Spirituality and study the picture of how Christians are called to live upside-down—not according to our preconceptions or the world's agenda, but with genuine devotion and true spirituality! Meets Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8 at Oakwood, starting June 13. Books are $11 each. (please bring payment to study)
HIKING | Barb Sprecher
Join us each week at Retzer Nature Center as we “walk and talk” the themes of Romans 12. Isn’t it interesting to realize over and over again that God’s design for living well is so upside-down from our own inclinations? Let’s set aside this time to exercise our bodies AND our minds as we discuss His values, and the way they play out in our own lives today. Be sure to bring a water bottle! Meets Tuesday mornings from 9-10 at Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha, rain or shine, starting June 12.
BAKING | Sarah Geist
As we journey together through Romans 12 we will learn to take a cup of Holy Spirit, a teaspoon of humble living and a dash of Christ's love and practically apply the beautiful words of our God to our daily lives. Join us as we [un]study God's word through baking. We will bake 6 different but delicious recipes learning various baking and decorating techniques while laughing and spending time in community together. We will also have an opportunity to use our skills to provide bake sale items to raise money for Exploit No More in July. High school girls welcome too! Meets Wednesdays afternoons at 2:00 at Sarah Geist's home, starting June 13. The cost is $8 for 6 weeks. (please bring payment to study)
FAITHFULLY FIT | Nicole Anacker
Engage your mind and your body! We will use a variety of workouts to get moving to music that inspires us to use our lives to honor God and not conform to the world, truly living upside-down. (Exercising upside-down not required.) Each workout will be followed by a short time of reflection and prayer. Open to ALL levels of fitness! Wear comfortable clothing/shoes. Meets Thursday evenings from 6:30-8 at Oakwood, starting June 14.
BIKING | Melissa Wardle
This [un]study will actively experience the themes of Romans 12 by biking different bike trails in the area. Each ride will be followed by water (!) and dialogue about the upside-down way of living according to Scripture. You'll need to transport your bike to each location. Meets Tuesday evenings at 6, starting June 12.
