Do you have a love for children? Your own children, foster children, global orphans? If so this run/walk, held the first Saturday in November, is for you!
Join us Saturday, November 9, at 10am at Lake Country Lutheran High School, Hartland!
Our fundraising efforts will be directed to two causes. Locally, we will support the Royal Family Kids Camp of Waukesha County which is a summer camp for children in the foster care system who have been abused, neglected and abandoned. Globally, we are partnering with Orphan Outreach to support the Jelgava City Orphanage in Jelgava, Latvia. This includes humanitarian aid, life skills training, mentoring, employment help and Bible studies.
This is one of the few timed 5K cross country runs in the area on a WIAA State Certified Course. It starts off on the soccer field at Lake Country Lutheran High School and works its way across the street into a beautiful wooded trail with the finish line back on Lake Country Lutheran's grounds. During the post-race celebration awards will be given for the top runners by gender and age groups. A new timing system simplifies and speeds up our race results and respective award ceremony.
If not interested in running, you can also do a delayed start after the runners and walk the same 5K course. In addition, we have a 1 mile Fun Run for any children under the age of 10, no timing but just for fun, after the 5K Run.
After the race, join us indoors in the Great Hall at the school for a celebration complete with food, drinks, music, kids’ activities, adoption and foster care information, race results and awards.
